Operation Dagsværk deltog i år for anden gang nogensinde i den Internationale Summercamp. Her mødtes unge fra ungdomsorganisationer i Europa - organisationer, der i større eller mindre grad minder om Operation Dagsværk Danmark.
I fællesskab fandt de frem til en række principper, der er fælles for alle organisationerne.
Formålet var at arbejde frem mod, at alle disse organisationer nemmere kan fungere som en samlet gruppe i fremtiden - og på den måde forhåbentligt have større gennemslagskraft.
Disse principper blev kaldt Basic Common Principles:
Basic Common Principles – Operation Dayswork Europe (ODE)
We act on the ground of the universal human rights.
We promote and work for the equality and freedom of all humans.
§ 1: Our actions are done by, with and for youth.
§ 2: We act with solidarity.
§ 3: We raise global consciousness and awareness through education.
§ 4: Pupils have the right to choose to participate.
§ 5: Our Action Day shall promote active citizenship.
§ 6: We implement projects for formal, non-formal and informal education.
§ 7: The projects should be sustainable, locally initiated and include marginalized groups.
§ 8: We base our work on transparency.
